National Grid asked Exodigo to provide a complete map of subsurface assets for an active gas substation, where existing records and partial schematics were available.
Exodigo delivered an accurate, detailed underground map to National Grid that validated the locations of all known assets. The new map also revealed the presence of two additional utility lines, which did not appear in as-builts or existing records but were detected by Exodigo’s proprietary algorithms.

Exodigo provided precise locations for multiple lines (shown in black) that deviated from existing records and incomplete schematics (shown in pink and white).
While partial schematics depicted the general locations of subsurface voids (shown as pink and white boxes), these records were not drawn to scale. Exodigo identified the voids with proper placement and scale (area shown in yellow) in relation to surrounding assets.
Exodigo found all the major below grade-assets at the Yaphank, NY site including some unknown lines that were not found in any existing documentation. This technology presents a significant opportunity for us to improve safety, reduce cost, and increase operational efficiency on our construction projects.
